This Day God Gives Me

This day God gives me Strength of high heaven,
Sun and moon shining, Flame in my hearth.
Flashing of lightning, Wind in its swiftness,
Deeps of the ocean, Firmness of earth.

This day God gives me Strength as my guardian,
Might to uphold me, Wisdom as guide.
Your eyes are watchful, Your ears are list'ning,
Your lips are speaking, Friend at my side.

God's Way is my way, God's Shield is 'round me,
God's Host defends me, Saving from ill.
Angels of heaven, Drive from me always
All that would harm me, Stand by me still.

Rising I thank Thee, Mighty and Strong One,
King of creation, Giver of rest.
Firmly confessing, God in Three Persons,
Oneness of Godhead, Trinity Blest!

It's Only Hair. Right?

For weeks, we've been badgering encouraging BD to get a haircut and trim the scraggle on his upper lip and chin. And he kept saying that the entire swim team was doing it, and they were all going to shave everything once Districts came around. And we kept saying we didn't want to know what they meant by everything.

Districts are tomorrow.

We didn't really think they'd go through with it.

Good luck at Districts, swimmers!

Baltimore Aquarium

Circumstances took us to Baltimore for an overnight trip, so we turned it into a field trip by visiting the National Aquarium.

The twins don't look too enthused here. That's because they hadn't seen anything amazing yet, and didn't know what lay in store for them. All they knew at this point was that Mom was making them pose for a picture, AND they hadn't been allowed to go in the gift shop.

Some of us were operating on about four hours' sleep.

Other than that, it was a fabulous day. For how tired were were, it was remarkable how much enthusiasm everybody showed.

Just listen to that excited chatter!

As usual, the twins thought the best part was the escalators.
Even better, this place even had moving sidewalks AND rotating glass doors.

Regina at 2 Months

The smiles and coos have begun! She's about 10-and-a-half pounds now, and she's so busy whipping her head around, noticing everything, that she's rubbed off a bald spot on the back of her head.
