never mind the younger generation, I had no clue what that meant either. Is that a real newspaper headline or one made up? Cause if it's true... that's a horrible reference to have used.
The newspaper headline is definitely a spoof, a mock-up...but until reading the explanation, I had no idea what the Kool-Aid reference meant. I always thought it referred to the fact that Obama was a president for the kool-aid crowd, the younger generation of voters.

She keeps me informed on Obama happenings. I don't have the time or the inclination to keep up and sift through everything like she does, but I'm glad she does it for me.
Drink the kool aid is a term derived from the Jonestown massacre in the 1970s. Jones who led a cult in Jonestown laced grape laced Kool aid with cyanide and ordered his Flowers to drink it. A US Congressman was visiting at the time who died as well. Many of them did and died. Leading to the ironic saying today, "don't drink the kool aid." which tends to mean "Whatever they tell you, don't believe it too strongly".
